Senior Secretary Positions- West Point, NY (POSTED 6/2010)
Advantage SCI, a rapidly growing professional and privately-held services and defense contracting firm, is seeking full time employees who will be filling various government contractor positions at the DoD facility in West Point, New York. These are full-time positions with full benefits to include 2 weeks paid vacation, paid federal holidays, and a robust benefits package that includes employer paid vision and dental plans, PPO Health Plan with Health Savings Account subsidized by employer, 401K with company matching, employer paid life insurance. Candidate will provide administrative support and will be responsible for handling a wide variety of situations involving clerical or administrative functions in the office. Candidate must be able to handle a wide range of administrative operations often of sensitive nature. Candidate will be responsible for handling a wide range of general administrative support tasks including but not limited to: answering phones and distributing calls, revising and maintaining automated systems and/or reports, monitoring expenditures and supplies, arranging travel (including international), maintaining schedules and calendars, tracking correspondence, preparing draft and final correspondence, filing, copying, and maintaining records. May be required to supervise other administrative staff.
Characteristics for Success: Highly reliable and organized; ability to work well and with ease under pressure; must be highly articulate, detail oriented and outgoing with excellent communication skills in English (verbal, written, and computer); and experience in giving presentations to executives.

Minimum Requirements:
• Must have a current government Secret clearance
• Minimum of 4-6 years experience working in a DoD or government organization
• High School graduate and College degree (experience may be substituted for college) in administrative or related field
• Proven experience to type 60 words per minute (may be tested)
• Proven proficiency with the complete Microsoft Office Suite (may be tested)
• Experience operating various office equipment: copiers, faxes, typewriter, scanner, telephone answering systems
• Must be familiar with DoD terminology, correspondence and filing standards
• Proven ability to meet suspenses with high quality deliverables
• Experience in using the Defense Travel System (DTS)
• Proven experience supervising and training other administrative personnel
• Experience providing administrative support at the executive level: Senior Executive Services Member, Director, Associate Director, or Deputy Director.

Preferred Experience:
• Bachelor’s degree in administrative or related field

Major Gifts Officer (POSTED 5/2010)
West Point Association of Graduates (WPAOG) is seeking a Major Gifts Officer to provide professional support to the Development Team.

The incumbent’s responsibilities include:  identifying potential major donors; evaluating those identified; cultivating targeted individuals; preparing solicitations for those individuals; soliciting them with volunteer leadership assistance, if necessary; and ensuring that proper recognition is given to those who donate.  Throughout this cycle, the Major Gifts Officer is responsible for the management of 150 potential or actual major donors.  Planned gifts are also solicited whenever appropriate, based upon the donor’s philanthropic plans/needs.  This position reports to the Director of Major Gifts.
In addition, the incumbent will serve as the Development Point of Contact (POC) for major projects or programs when assigned.  As the POC you will be responsible for:  developing both a fund raising plan and a recognition plan, working with the WPAOG’s prospect manager to track prospective donors for this particular project/program, and ensuring that the project/program is being managed in a way that is in-line with the desires of the WPAOG and the donors.
Strong organizational and analytical skills and excellent oral and written communications are required.  The incumbent must possess thorough knowledge of fund raising skills and tools, with particular emphasis on capital giving programs and techniques to include those relating to Planned Giving. 
In addition, they must have an understanding of investment principles, tax laws, and related estate planning options.  It is essential that the incumbent have thorough knowledge of the Military Academy and the Association of Graduates requirements, supporting rationale and principles.  Experience serving at the United States Military Academy and/or in the U.S. Army is preferred.  The Major Gifts Officer must be available for extensive travel (25% - 50% of working time).

You may be eligible for unemployment.  If you are a military spouse who had to quit your job to follow a military member on a PCS move to West Point, you may be eligible to collect unemployment benefits. If you are arriving here from another state, you can contact the NYDOL at 845 568-5373.  Be sure to have a copy of the military members’ PCS orders. When you leave West Point for another duty location, if you have worked in NY State and move as a result of the military members PCS, you will probably be eligible to receive benefits from New York State, although each situation is handled on a case by case basis. To contact New York State Dept. of Labors local Unemployment Office in Newburgh, call (845)568-5373. The toll free number to file an unemployment claim in New York State is 1-888-209-8124.  Note:  Spouses may also be eligible for unemployment if they quit their jobs due to the retirement and relocation of the military sponsor.

Must be at least 18 years of age and have prior work experience in health care setting functioning in any job capacity.
