The American Red Cross in Greater New York – West Point serves both West Point and the surrounding community. As a volunteer-lead organization, Red Cross volunteers can make a lasting impact on the lives of their friends and neighbors through the Red Cross’s lifesaving and life-changing work. At West Point, Red Cross volunteers:

• Provide leadership and guidance as part of the Red Cross West Point Leadership Committee
• Support the three blood drives that take place on post each year
• Welcome and provide comfort and assistance to patients and families at Keller Army Community Hospital
• Respond to disasters as Disaster Action or Mass Care Team members (all training IS FREE!)
• Teach preparedness programs
• Provide lifesaving skills training
• Help soldiers returning from overseas with their transition to life back home
• Organize and participate in fundraising activities, and more

The American Red Cross in Greater New York also provides assistance to military families who need to contact a loved one who is serving abroad, and can help to locate and connect families separated by conflict or natural disasters.
