The cost of inspection is $21.00 for safety/emissions and $10.00 for safety. Please note that if your car fails inspection, you will receive an additional charge mandated by New York State.
REPAIR AND MAINTENANCE SERVICE NOW AVAILABLE
The FMWR Auto Shop, located in Bldg 648, behind the West Point Post Office, is now offering a repair and maintenance service. Same day vehicle repair service will be performed by appointment only*.

*Prior to repair service, patrons are required to bring the vehicle to the Auto Shop for an evaluation and service estimate. Estimates are performed during regular business hours. Please call ahead.
The cost for service is dependent upon parts and the type of service performed. The labor rate is charged at
$65 per hour based on 30 minute increments. The Auto Shop accepts cash, check, Visa and Master Card.

MAINTENANCE AND REPAIR
The FMWR Auto Shop is located just up the hill from the Post Office. It offers the space, tools and equipment, and technical assistance to do all sorts of automotive maintenance and repairs. The staff is here to assist and advise with all your repair needs. The shop is licensed to perform New York State Motor Vehicle Inspections on cars, trucks & trailers. In addition to services such as cooling system flushes, seasonal specials are offered as well. The Auto Shop offers a discount on parts, delivered right to the shop.
RACK & PINION STEERING SERVICE
The major cause of failure of the rack and pinion steering system is dirty fluid. As you drive the car, the oil gets contaminated with dirt and moisture, which damage the seals. Every couple of years it is good practice to flush and clean out the system and replace the fluid. We now have the capability to do this for you. The complete service is $50.
COOLING SYSTEM RECYCLE
Have your cooling system flushed and cleaned, and the coolant replaced with new coolant at the correct pH to prevent corrosion from forming. We do it without polluting the environment, because we recycle the antifreeze. The complete service costs only
$50.
INTAKE SYSTEM CLEANING AND SERVICE
As you drive, the intake system (the system that takes the gas from the tank and feeds it to the engine and out the exhaust) gets clogged with carbon and other deposits that rob your car of power. We offer a three-part cleaning system that cleans away deposits and restores the power and economy to your engine. We'll have the car for about 3 hours, but you'll be surprised by the change. $65.
