Location/Access: Bull Pond is located in Training Area O in the southwest section of the reservation. Access to the pond is from Bull Pond Road, an asphalt road off of Route 293, and Firebreak 23, a packed gravel/chip and tar road breaking off from Bull Pond Road. Bull Pond Road and FB 23 are easily traveled by most POVs throughout the warm months. The area is generally inaccessible to vehicles in icy or snowy weather.

Fishing: Fishing pressure is intense in April, moderate to heavy in May, and very light the rest of the season. There are no boat launch facilities, but car-top boats and canoes can be launched at the CRD boat dock.

Species Composition: RAINBOW TROUT, BROWN TROUT, BROOK TROUT, alewife, chain pickerel, redfin pickerel, yellow bullhead, brown bullhead, pumpkinseed, bluegill, largemouth bass, and golden shiner.

Stocking:  2009 Trout Stocking will be delayed until further notice

Special Notes:

  1. Open for fishing only during the NYS trout season, 1 April through 15 October.
  2. Largest West Point trout (10 lb. 0 oz. brown) caught in Bull Pond in 1994.
