Location/Access: During summer training access to Stilwell Lake is restricted; range firing precludes the use of Mine Torne Road and Stilwell Lake.

Fishing: Fishing pressure is moderate to heavy between May and September. The lake is fairly large and rarely do you get the sense it is crowded with anglers. The shallow arm between Training Areas T1 and T2 is very popular and productive early in the season. Late in the summer the weed growth is very dense in the arm, and, lower water levels often make boat access impossible. Stilwell Lake has the best quality bass fishing at West Point. The lake is also popular with ice fishermen.

Species Composition: Alewife, American eel, yellow bullhead, brown bullhead, channel catfish, white sucker, golden shiner, redfin pickerel, CHAIN PICKEREL, redbreast sunfish, blue-spotted sunfish, BLUEGILL, PUMPKINSEED, yellow perch, smallmouth bass, LARGEMOUTH BASS, BLACK CRAPPIE, white crappie, walleye and banded killifish.

Stocking: Approximately 1,000 Two to four-inch Walleye fingerlings are stocked every other year, alternating with Popolopen Lake.
