Location/Access: Located in the north-central section of the reservation in Training Area M, behind Round Pond. There is no locked gate when coming in from Round Pond but there are two locked gates on FB 15 (gates #60 & #22). Access is good from Round Pond. Fair off Firebreak 15. 4WD needed in winter.

Fishing: Fishing pressure is high from May through September, very light the other months.

Species Composition: Brown bullhead, PUMPKINSEED, BLUEGILL, and LARGEMOUTH BASS.

Special Notes:

  1. Wilkins Pond is a catch-and-release bass area. One twenty (20) inch largemouth bass per season is permitted to be kept by an angler.
  2. The angler's 20 inch bass must be registered at the Round Pond Recreation Area Office.
  3. Do not disturb or fish within 50 feet of the pond's wood duck nesting boxes between March and June, the nesting season.
  4. Stay off the large island during the osprey nesting season, 1 April to 31 July.

  MWR facilities are for eligible personnel only.
Active duty and retired military personnel, Air National Guard and Reserve personnel, family members of the above, DOD and retired civilian employees, and cadets are eligible to use MWR facilities. Proper identification may be requested by staff.
