Financial Readiness Program Goals
The practice of great money management skills is learned behavior.  With the proper guidance, education and counseling everyone is capable of living debt free all it takes is effort and disciple.  The Financial Readiness Program is committed to providing Military members’ with the necessary information and tools needed for financial success. 

The program offers the following workshops and life learning skills:
The 8 hour mandatory Personal Financial Readiness Training for first-term Soldiers
Budget development & record keeping
Consumer rights and obligations
Complaint resolution
Individual budget and money management counseling

The Army Emergency Relief (AER) Program
The AER program provides emergency financial assistance in the form of loans and grants to active duty and retired Army personnel and their families in times of financial distress.

1. Obtain a yearly credit report. The three major companies are:

2. If you want telemarketers to stop calling your home, register with the “Do Not Call” Registry.For the Federal Government contact http://donotcall.gov/default.aspx or call 1-888-382-1222 from the telephone you wish not to be called. New York State can be contacted by calling 800-697-1220 or online at www.consumer.state.ny.us

3. For every pre-approved credit offer you receive, an inquiry has been made into your credit report. The number of “hits” on your account may work against you. To exclude your name from a list of prescreened names for a two-year period, call the OptOut Request Line at 888-567-8688.
