To the West Point Community,

Want to be more involved in the quality of education for your elementary and middle school children but aren’t sure how? Join the West Point Schools Board. This 5-member board acts as the eyes and ears of the District Superintendent (whose main office is in Virginia) and as a voice of the community regarding any school issues.

What skills do I need to be an effective member? The abilities to look at issues objectively and ask good questions to ensure the schools and district are doing the best things for our children.

How much time does this take? The school board meets nine times during the year (1st Wednesday of the month) for 60-90 minutes.

West Point is approved for the Cost of Living Allowance (COLA).
The 2010 COLA is 3% and is based on rank and years of service.
